Good afternoon,
Here’s a quick reminder about reporting participation for the upcoming holiday;
Recognized legal “State Holidays” and the corresponding reported holiday hours should be entered for each student based on the amount of time they were scheduled to participate that day.
The number of eligible holiday hours are determined using the students’ regular schedule for that day. For example, if the legal holiday falls on a Monday and your student is regularly scheduled to participate 6 hours on Mondays, you would enter 6 hours of participation under the “State Holidays” column. You may only claim holiday hours for those holidays identified in the list of state holidays attachment in the WorkFirst Handbook http://www.dshs.wa.gov/ESA/wfhand/3_9_2.htm and eJAS (see below).
Please note: Thanksgiving holiday has two eligible days that can may be claimed as holiday. Christmas has one eligible day.
If there are additional days where campus resources are unavailable or closed due to holiday, those days may be entered as excused absence. Any time missed outside of these two descriptions should be made up through banked hours, unsupervised, or supervised homework time. Any hours not made up should be reported as unexcused. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.
Hope your holiday is enjoyable,
